Meditation refers to an altered state of consciousness. This can be described in a host of ways, but often either as a mental quality or emotional experience. Words used to describe states of meditation include awareness, clarity, stillness, calmness, fullness, love, compassion, bliss, and light. To practice meditation, one may experience profound changes within weeks. Your sleep is easier and you awake refreshed. As you become calmer, you are less agitated and more focused. You are also more in touch with your intuition, because your controlling mind stops interfering so much.
